بحثاً عن تطور القصة القصيرة في البحرين ، وشارك في مؤتمر اتحاد الكتاب العرب بتونس سنة 2002 ، ببحث تحت عنوان «التضامن الكفاحي بين المسلمين»، وشارك في مؤتمر بجمهورية مصر العربية سنة 2003 ، وببحث تحت عنوان «المثقف العربي بين الحرية والاستبداد» وذلك باتحاد الكتاب المصريين . والعديد من المؤتمرات الادبية العربية. كتب منذ نهاية الستينيات في عدة أنواع أدبية وفكرية ، خاصة في إنتاج القصة القصيرة والرواية والدراسة الفكرية. منذ سنة 1966، مارس عبدالله خليفة كتابة القصة القصيرة بشكل مكثف وواسع أكثر من بقية الأعمال الأدبية والفكرية التي كان يمازجها مع هذا الإنتاج ، حيث ترابطت لديه الكتابة بشتى أنواعها : مقالة، ودراسة، وقصة، ونقد. ولكن في السنوات الأولى حظيت القصة القصيرة بشكل خاص بهذا النتاج ، وقد نشر عشرات القصص القصيرة في سنوات «1966 – 1975» في المجلات والصحف البحرينية خاصة، ومنذ الثمانينيات من
